Uses | 2, 6-diaminopyridine can be used to synthesize pentamidine derivatives with anti-tumor activity and DNA binding activity. It can also be used to synthesize N-monobasyl derivatives of symmetric diamine with antiviral activity. Its derivatives can be used as molecular sensor models for nucleic acid detection. for coupling diazo compound 2, 6-diaminopyridine is currently mainly used in the production of an analgesic-Phenazopyridine [CAS no 94-78-0] abroad, which is said to relieve pain, burning and discomfort caused by urinary tract infection and other diseases. The drug is a prescription drug in the United States, an over-the-counter drug in Canada, and has not yet been produced in China. The trade names of the drug in the United States are: Azo-Standard, Baridium, Eridium, Geridium, Phenazodine, Pyridiate, Pyridium, Urodine, Urogesic, Viridium; the trade names of the drug in Canada are: Phenazo, Pyridium. |
Production method | Pyridine or 2-aminopyridine aminated under stronger conditions. |
